1.    REMOVE PROBLEMATIC ADD-INS

·         Press the Windows + R key simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. Type in Outlook.exe/safe and press Enter to access the safe mode.

·         Go to File, then to Options, then to Add-ins and press Go.

·         In the window which pops up, remove all the third-party add-ins and leave only the add-ins by Microsoft.

 

2.    USE EVENT VIEWER

You can use the event viewer from the event logs to figure out the reason behind the Outlook not working error.

·         In the Windows Search Box, type Event Viewer and press Enter.

·         Expand the Windows Logs in the Event Viewer windows and choose Application.

·         Find out names such as Windows Error Reporting, Outlook not working, or Application Error in the source line.

·         After identifying the reason, locate the error file and delete it.


3.    CREATE A NEW OUTLOOK PROFILE

·         Go to the Control Panel and then to Mail.

·         In the dialog box, click on Show Profile. Click on Add and type in a new profile name. Click on OK.

·         Type in the email account and click on Next.

·         Set the new Outlook profile as the default Outlook profile and restart Outlook.

·         In most cases, this step resolves the Outlook Not Working Error.


4.    REPAIR MS OFFICE SUITE

This step will check if there are any issues with the Microsoft Outlook application and will fix the errors if found. 

·         Shut down all Office applications which are running.

·         Open the Control Panel and choose Programs and Features. 

·         Right-click on Microsoft Office. 

·         Choose Select and then click on the Quick Repair option.


·         After the Repair process is complete, restart QuickBooks to see if the Outlook Email Not Working error has been solved. 



5.    REPAIR CORRUPT PST FILE WITH SCANPST

·         Press Windows + E to open the File Explorer. Search for SCANPST in the search box. Double click on the program to open it.

·         In the Microsoft Outlook Inbox Repair Tool window, click on Browse and choose the .pst file to repair. 

·         Click on Repair and let the repairing process complete and then restart Outlook.
